Note from your Coordinator

We head back to Steamboat Resort this week to continue our quest in defending the NAASF and the Shredder's Cup. This is not your typical NAASF Ski/Ride Week. There will be a LOT going on this week.  The City of Steamboat Springs has Winter Carnival activities on Saturday, Nordic opportunities on Sunday, Extra Free Ski days on Saturday and Sunday, Super Bowl Sunday, Valentine’s Day on Tuesday, and of course NAASF Ski and Snowboard Competitions throughout the week!

If you have any other questions, please contact:

WINTER CARNIVAL

The famous Steamboat Winter Carnival ENDS Saturday evening (Feb 11th). If your schedule and wallet allow, consider coming in on Friday or Saturday before our NAASF Week and experience this iconic event.

· Saturday February 11th – All Day – Street “activities”

· Saturday February 11th – EVENING (starting about 6:30) – On mountain demos from virtually every winter sport discipline (Nordic, Jumping, Snowboard, and Alpine) followed by one of the largest and most exciting fireworks display you will ever see. This includes Ski Patrol going through a ring of fire off the BIG JUMP pulling a rescue sled and the famous “lighted man”. If you are able to arrive earlier, this is a “not to miss” event!

NORDIC OPPORTUNITY

Sunday February 12th - we will have a Nordic Skiing “opportunity”. Depending on response, we “may” offer lessons OR we “may” have a short “fun race” OR...who knows what. Standby for more details on this. Jim Tullos from American will be the contact for this event. Email him at Jim@Fundensity.com to let him know you're interested!

  • Rental cars and Go Alpine are options from Denver or Hayden.
  • Rental cars are the ONLY option from Eagle/Vail

Go Alpine from Denver OR from Hayden has historically offered NAASF members a discount, if you ask for a NAASF (North American Airline Ski Federation) discount. HOWEVER, they were sold over the summer and the discount doesn’t show up YET.  I have been in communications with them and I “think” we will have a discount worked out in a few days (or maybe not).

Go Alpine requires a reservation so don’t show up thinking you can grab a ride.
