Copper Training Camp 2022 |
Our training camp this year was the most well-attended camp we've had since we restarted the tradition just a few short years ago! In a precursor to the rest of this record-shattering season, the snow on the mountain was absolutely amazing! Some of the best early-season skiing we've seen in a long time awaited our jelly-legged attendees, and our coaches did a great job of taking advantage of the extra terrain open on the mountain that we don't normally get to see this time of year. We were excited to get to meet so many new members this week as well:
The Ugly Sweater Pub Crawl was particularly successful and gnarly this year - I do NOT want to know where some of you buy your clothes, ever!! Well done!
It was a lot of fun seeing some of our members get their first introduction to racing this week - as well as seeing some former racing veterans get a chance to knock off the rust and get a good tune-up going into the NAASF/IASF season!
With our numbers growing each year, this event is becoming more and more a regular part of many of our members' ski seasons. Having a chance to start off early with skilled coaches guiding us through fundamentals to strengthen our skiing on the mountain and in the race course just makes a ton of sense.
Now we just have to work on that whole "I'll just ski myself into shape this year" approach to pre-season conditioning!
